SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB (Held at the Park & Rec. Community Center)

Some activities of the club include euchre, bingo, and monthly pitch in dinner. The activities are held at the Crawfordsville Community Center. Come and enjoy. The Annual membership fee is $7.00.

Schedule of Activities
1st Monday of each month:
Bingo at 6:30pm
Pitch-In Dinner at 5:30pm

2nd Monday of each month:
Board meeting at 4:45pm
Euchre at 5:30pm

3rd and 4th Monday of each month:
Euchre at 5:30pm

5th Monday of each month:
Bingo at 5:30pm

Wednesday & Friday afternoons:
Bid Euchre 1-4pm

Wednesday & Friday can be attended by non-members for $1


VISION CLUB

A club for individuals in Montgomery County who are visually impaired. The club meets once a month for lunch and various activities including, tours, riding around the countryside, and interaction with others participating in the Vision Club of Area IV in Lafayette. Transportation and funding for the lunch and activities are provided by the Montgomery County Community Foundation and the Parks Department. SENIOR CRAFTS

This program is held at the Nutrition Site after lunch one day a month. This Craft Program is supported by Montgomery County Community Foundation. This program offers a variety of craft projects for seniors to use their skills and create gifts for friends and family.


SENIOR STRENGTH AND STRETCH

Age gracefully. This class is designed to help seniors improve muscle strength and flexibility. Weight training has been proven to help those with osteoporosis. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00-11:45am.
Cost: 12-visit passes $14 non-resident/ $12 city resident.


YOGA CLASS

Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual activity for stress relief and enjoyment. Check for information with the Park & Rec 364-5175


SENIOR AEROBICS

This class was designed with the older adult in mind. It incorporates low impact aerobics, chair aerobics, step aerobics, and toning exercises. Class meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:45am-10:30am
Cost: 12-visit pass $14 non-resident/ $12 city resident


SENIOR CHORUS

No auditions! Everyone that likes to sing is welcome. Practice starts at 9:30am at the Community Center dinning room the first and last Friday of the Month.


NUTRITION SITE

The Nutrition Site is located in the Crawfordsville Community Center at 922 E. South Blvd. Meals are provided by Midland Meals Monday-Friday at 12:00noon. For person 60 years or older meal are by donation only.

Other activities at the Nutrition Site include:
Bingo – Tues & Thurs 12:30-1:30 p.m.
Crafts – Once a month at 10:00 a.m.
*Nutritional Information - 4th Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.
Complimentary Health Checks between 11:00am and 1:00pm
Blood Sugar Testing provided by Hickory Creek on the 3rd Wed.
Blood Pressure Checks provided by Lane House on the 3rd Thurs.
Hearing Screening provided by Advanced Hearing on the 1st Thurs
Complimentary use of the Community Center walking track is available to those eating at the Nutrition site 10:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday.

SUNSHINE VANS

The Sunshine Van office is located in the Crawfordsville Park & Recreation Department. Sunshine Vans are funded by donations, Muffy, Montgomery County Community Foundation and Title III and is operated by the Crawfordsville Park & Recreation Department. The Sunshine Vans program is a transportation system for person 60 years and older, handicapped and disabled by donation only. Sunshine Vans take persons medical appointments pick up prescriptions, pick up groceries, and other personal care trips as well as to lunch at the Nutrition Site for lunch and socialization.

Suggested donations are posted in each van. Ask about punch passes. They make great gifts, are offered at a discount and are easy to use. Please note: Medical & Wheelchair appointments require a minimum 24 hour advance notice.


CASE MANAGERS AVAILABLE

Specially trained staff is available to help persons 60 and older needing help with community referrals, nutrition programs, transportation, and health services. Help in filling out applications for food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security is also available. For more information call Area IV Agency on Aging at 800-382-7556


MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL ON AGING BOARD (MCCA)

MCCA is an affiliate of the Area IV Agency on Aging. This board consists of persons interested in the elderly, their participation and fulfillment in life. The Board meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 10:30am at the Crawfordsville Community Center. This board's purpose is to assess the needs and issues of older adults and assess the facilities of our County to make available services to provide these needs.
