The Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Department prides itself on having something for everyone! Adult volleyball leagues involving 52 teams play on a weekly basis at the elementary schools, local industries sponsor teams for our industrial basketball league, and we have a variety of arts and crafts classes to choose from! Not to mention all of the fitness activities listed on the health and fitness section of this site! If you don't find what you are looking for, give us a call...we love to try new programs!


MENS FALL VOLLEYBALL

Fall adult men's volleyball starts team registrations in August until beginning of Sept. Men's league plays on Wednesday nights at the Community Center. Games begin the first full week of September. Roster forms can be picked up from the Crawfordsville Community Center.

The second Wednesday tentative rosters are due. The third Wednesday entry, CASA and non resident fees due. Team entry fee is $500. CASA fee is $14/person. Non Resident Fee is $5/person. All meetings will be held at the Crawfordsville Community Center.

SUGAR CREEK MASTERS SWIM CLUB

SUGAR CREEK MASTERS SWIM CLUB

Open to individuals 18 and up, the Sugar Creek Masters Swim Club is organized to provide coached practices for swimmers interested in either fitness or competitive swimming. Group practices are held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00pm, and Saturday mornings, 8:00-10:00am at the Crawfordsville Aquatics Center. Coach is Jordan Hatch. Dues are paid quarterly in the amount fo $50.00 per person, and registration with the state masters swim organization is required. For more information, call Brent Harlos, 361-0403.


GET FIT WITH FIDO!

Would you like a walking partner that won't stand you up for your morning run because he's had a late night out with the guys? Someone that's always up for a hike and is faithful til the end? Who better for a fitness partner, than one of the animal Welfare League of Montgomery County's shelter dogs? "Get Fit with Fido" is a new program that is co-sponsored by the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County and the Crawfordsville Parks & Recreation Dept. Due to the close proximity of the shelter to the Sugar Creek Trail, this is a perfect solution to walkers wanting a companion while they walk. The dogs will wear special vests that say, "Adopt Me." MONTGOMERY COUNTY DISC GOLF CLUB

The club formed in April of 2010 with the following charter.
 
To enhance the fastest growing recreational sport in the US, by promoting the game of disc golf in Montgomery County. We are committed to welcoming new players at a weekly random draw doubles, played on Thursday evenings at two courses located in Crawfordsville. As a club, we are upgrading the Milligan park course from the current 9 holes, to a 22 hole layout, with park board approval in July of 2010. Targeted install timeline is September 2010. Upcoming club activities will be a membership drive in early 2011, creation of sanctioned tournaments, and continual monitoring, and enhancement of our park course. NEW HORIZONS TRACK CLUB

New Horizons is a track and field club and is open to ages 6-adult. Track and field practice June through the end of July and Cross Country practice October to December. Track club participants choose whether or not they compete. The club is coached by area high school coaches Ed Stuffle, Larry Clodfelter, and Brian Miller.
